wildlife rescueDuring the Fall and Winter months the number of animals that are brought in to FLWC goes down. The baby animals of spring and summer have grown up and are finding their own way in the world. Four Lakes Wildlife Center's Lead Rehabilitator will continue to receive and rehabilitate such things as injured fall migrants and injured raptors throughout the calendar year. Due to the lower wildlife numbers, and a limited budget FLWC stops taking general wildlife admissions during the fall and winter months. (September 1 thru April 1.) The Four Lakes Wildlife Center works in cooperation with the Emergency Clinic for Animals. If you have found an sick or injured wild animal during the fall or winter months call the Emergency Clinic for Animals at 274-7772, and located at 229 W Beltline Hwy. The Emergency Clinic will assess the animal, treat its immediate needs and then contact a member of Four Lakes Wildlife Center to see if it is a species of wildlife that we can handle during the winter months. If you have found a non-injured wild animal during the fall or winter months please call FLWC at 608-838-0413 extension 192 to determine if the animal is in need of care. Many wild animals are mistakenly removed from their natural environment by well meaning people who are trying to help. When possible, please call before removing a wild animal from its home.
